network manager reports "no network" even after adding the "static"

Bug Description
Binary package hint: network-manager
Using Hurd 3 for almost 2 days and Having in mind bug 80622
I have added the "static" after eth0 inet ..... in the file /etc/network/
in order to use a static network ip but the network manager still says no network,
i can surf with firefox and leech/seed with ktorrent but it is annoying
to see this warning (I do not how to remove it from the task bar)
