NM slow to connect through WPA2 on boot and after resuming from standby [Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 5300 & 6300]

Bug Description

In Natty, my Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless adapter connected almost instantly to my AP (WPA2) after boot and when resuming from standby. Now in Oneiric this takes almost a minute.

What I tried so far:

*) Installing the latest Natty kernel in Oneiric -> no change.
*) Installing Natty's latest NM version in Oneiric -> no change.
*) I thought that maybe this is connected to bug 805140, so I compiled Oneiric's NM without that patch -> no change.

Confirming similar on my 'Intel Corporation Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300'

Doesn't matter if I've booted or suspended either, any reconnect is taking many times longer than the same operation on Natty. Also I always need to enter my WPA key (but I'll open a separate bug for that)

Hernando,

If you could confirm the connection is slow when you just disconnect and reconnect then I can change the title to be more clear.

Thanks,

Also, you should run 'apport-collect 805808' in a terminal anyway to upload version information and other debug logs.

Hernando,

Can you go to 'NM Applet > Edit Connections > Wireless' and check if there is more than one entry for the same access point (numbered like 1,2, 3)?

A simple reconnect shows the same behavior. There are no duplicates of the connection in the editor.

I'm attaching a 'cleaned' .apport file as apport-collect would send too much private data for my taste.

Also I see a "busy icon" when trying to (re)connect instead of just the usual connection animation. Attaching screencast.

FWIW, I'm no longer seeing this. It connects as fast as it did in Natty.
