NT Man,

When you save the PIN in the connection editor, can you then get back to the PIN code in the gnome keyring? You can verify this by going under System -> Preferences -> Passwords and Encryption Keys. Thanks!

Hello,
same problem here, after updating from ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10.
I am asked for the pin code now every time, I boot the computer.
This was not needed before the update.

The pin code is not stored in the gnome keyring.

Additional info:
This problem seams to appear only, if the "autoconnect" field is disabled in the connection manager.
But this problem did not exist with ubuntu 10.04.
I could have the autoconnection of the UMTS modem disabled, and was not asked for the pin at boot time.
I am using a dell latitude e6400 computer with builtin UMTS modem.

Shall I post any log files?

The same problem here after upgrade to maverick on a lenovo x200. After every reboot a window comes up asking for the pin-code: The mobile broadband device 'Erricson F3507g' requires a SIM PIN Code before it can be used'.

In the gnome keyring there are two entries one for the pin and one for the puk code with the lines:

Network secret for Yesss/gsm/password

(Yess is the provier)

I am having the same problem on an 'Acer Aspire One 532h' with a Huawei GSM Modem built in.
Using Ubuntu 11.04 and Network-Manager v0.8.4.

The bug occurs when checking the box to use the setting for all users and when i uncheck the box and store the pin in the gnome-keyring, too.

It happens also when Auto-Connect is turned off.
And when turned on it won't auto-connect after entering the pin.

This bug still occurs in 11.10.
Looks to me like the dialog after login is unrelated to the per-connection setting in the keychain. nm doesn't know the PIN will be sent when a connection is set up, so it displays the dialog like it does for any USB WWAN modem.
Someone has to convince network-manager otherwise!

Maybe this doesn't have anything to do with the keyring; I can change the PIN code using the Network Manager and it gets correctly stored in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/MyMobileBroadbandProfile but this particular parameter appears to be ignored when read.
