Bug Description
Binary package hint: network-manager
I am using:
Ubuntu karmic (development branch) 9.10
network-manager 0.8~a~git.
on a Dell Vostro 1320.
The wifi card is:
0e:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100
nm applet says that the wifi network is disabled. It's not possible to enable it.
The wifi led is switched off, the wifi hardware switch is on (bluetooth is governed by the same button and works well).
It is not possible to connect to any wifi network.
if I install wicd, instead of nm, the wifi led switches on and I can easily connect to wifi networks (open, WPA, WPA2...)
So I presume it's not an hardware/driver problem but a nm problem.
I am at your disposal for further info.
Emanuele.
