Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

In Karmic alpha 6, network-manager fails to connect to a wired network with IEEE 802.1x authentication (TTLS/PAP, no certificates). All it does is pop up:

"Wired network
Disconnected - you are now offline"

This is a very annoying and uninformative message. I know I'm off-line; I'm trying to get on-line. The same configuration works in Ibex and Jaunty.

Previous versions logged the authentication attempts in /var/log/wpa_supplicant, but this is gone in Karmic.

Please let me know if there is anything I can test or if further information is needed.
