Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

Network manager crashed when I plugged in my GSM modem. At the time, Wireless LAN was up and running, but when I plugged in the wireless modem ( Sierra Wireless Aircard 880U ), Network Manager crashed. The applet remained up.

I restarted Network Manager ( sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager start ), and it came back up. If I then tried to connect to a WWAN network that was set up ( Vodafone(Contract) ), Network Manager dies again.

I've just upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 Alpha 4. The GSM didn't seem to be working in 9.04, though it was fine in 8.10.

Network manager version is 0.8~a~git.20090804t185522.4bab334-0ubuntu1

Removing the existing GSM configurations and recreating them in Network manager stopped the crashing, although NM still couldn't connect.

Alpha 5 has everything working fine.
