Bug Description

Ubuntu : 9.04
network manager : 0.7.1~rc4.1.cf199a964-0ubuntu2 0

When you connecte with gnome-ppp, network-manager didn't see that you are connect, and lot of software thinks you are offline (pidgin, epiphany, firefox, ...)

Can you may me integrate gnome-ppp inside network-manager (like a new tab), it's will be useful

After battle to find and install a good driver, nothing work like you want

To best way, i find, to remove the 'offline warning' for each program is to remove network-manager package in synaptic, but when i am not at home and when i want use wireless, i should reinstall it :/

Thanks

Hi anonyme68, thank you for taking the time to report this bug, and for helping to make Ubuntu better. Your report did not specify an associated package, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. (You can learn more about how to find the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.) I have classified this as a bug in network-manage

For future reference, you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug-reporting functionality built into them. This is typically accessible via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the relevant application. (You can learn more about this feature at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.)

This behavior still happens in version 0.7.1, that came with Ubuntu 9.0.4.
