Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

This is related to bug 337085 which was triggered by using wpa-essid in /etc/network/interfaces instead of wpa-ssid. The "ifup" command supports wpa-essid just fine, so NM probably ought to be able to handle it as well.

Setting to Triaged, even now NM doesn't appear to have support for wpa-essid. Marking as Wishlist for when I have... the few seconds it will actually need to implement this.

essid should be handled the same way as ssid, it's essentially the same piece of data.

FWIW, that's all around line 95 in src/settings/plugins/ifupdown/parser.c. A matter of about one line change :)

Changed in network-manager (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
