Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

Clean install of Intrepid, but /home on a seperate drive.
Initial connection wired DHCP address from DSL router. Fine. Can browse network and net.
(As by the way - Cannot set to static as described in other posts. If I create a static connection and use the applet to select that connection, no network at all.) So I leave as DHCP. ifconfig and connection info on applet shows ip.
Have a shared drive on samba, read/write permissions. Fine. XP sees it. Can drag and drop and delete files. Fine.

A create a DSL pppoe connection and select on applet. Connects and works, but ramdomaly looses connectivity.
The problem is connecting with DSL stops XP machine from sees the samba shares. Checking ifconfig after connection with DSL, the ip in eth0 disappears. All the other info on eth0 is there, but no ip. This is probably why samba stops sharing, no eth0. The applet only shows the dot on the DSL connection. How to enable eth0 and DSL on the applet?

This worked well in Hardy, by having pppoe and eth0 on static.
