Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

Network Manager crashed during use, after a period of frequent disconnects. I am using vpnc (which I had to kill -9 a few times due to the disconnects) and resolvconf, if it is at all relevant. This may be a dupe of https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288258 and/or https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277185, but I no longer have access to the stack trace of my own report to compare.

The stack trace looks similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288258 (both have g_hash_table_foreach slightly further up - some hashing bug in glib?) FYI, I was using Firefox, Thunderbird, Pidgin and VirtualBox (svn head from today) with NAT networking at the time of the crash.

I'm afraid I will probably not be able to help you there. I was getting these crashes as an indirect result of a bug in dkms, and I have fixed that locally, so the crashes are now gone too.

I am getting NetworkManager crashes when I try to connect to a newly-created vpnc profile. I've been attempting to report the bug with the included reporting tool, but Firefox reports that it can't find (what I assume is) the packaged report-- a file:// path on the local machine. (I reported a bug with the tool just fine yesterday.)

Oddly, when I attempt to report the problem, the "reduced" report is listed as being ~600KB, and the full report ~130KB. I've tried both. I'm using amd64 Jaunty-- I don't know how/if this bug is related, other than being a vpnc/NM crash.

Since this report have a long time without activity, could you check (if is possible) in latest version included in Karmic if this issue is still happening? Thanks in advance.
