Bug Description
Binary package hint: network-manager
After upgrading to Intrepid Network-Manager can no longer reliably connect to WPA2 encrypted networks.
I've installed test packages from the network-manager PPA, but that doesn't seem to change anything. This may well be a duplicate of Bug #292054, but since i'm unsure i've filed a separate bug here.
I've attached output from syslog, daemon.log and wpa_supplicant.log
The process i went through while logging was:
tkrag@tkragX40:~$ sudo killall NetworkManager
tkrag@tkragX40:~$ sudo rmmod ath_pci
tkrag@tkragX40:~$ sudo modprobe ath_pci
tkrag@tkragX40:~$ sudo NetworkManager
Then NM auto-connected to my WEP encrypted network "vbg145b_st", after which i clicked the nm-applet, chose the WPA2 encrypted network "TTsPlace" entered the password at the prompt, and waited about 1 minute while it tried to connect. It then showed me the password prompt again, i entered the same password and tried again. After another minute or so it failed and reconnected to the vbg145b_St network.
This behaviour was the same before i upgraded to the PPA packages.
BEcause it was mentioned in the other bug (#292054), it may be worth mentioning here. The access point is a WAP2 encrypted Fon Fonera. And i've also tried connecting to a WAP2 encrypted Accton access point from open-mesh.com which is the same hardware as the Fon AP but different firmware.
Hardware Info:
