Bug Description

In Ubuntu 8.10, network manager applet does not preserve the status of the 'enable wireless' check box between reboots. Also, after reboot, the computer tries to connect to wireless network even if wireless was disabled before (by clearing the check box).

network-manager version: 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1
network-manager-gnome version: 0.7~~svn20081020t000444-0ubuntu1

Wishlist?

People are we talking about an usable Operating System or a toy with nice graphical effects for nerds with a lot of spare time.. ?!

Even MS Windows does it. Notifications should be on the wish list. This is a matter of productivity and usability .. network-manager doesn't what it's told to do: that's some kind of annoying issue.

I'm still using 8.10 and will do for a long time. I find this bug really annoying. It ms_windowsize ubuntu. Please get it corrected asap. I guess that 8.04 suffers from it too and it's LTS.
