Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

After updating networkmanager in intrepid to 0.7~~svn20080908t183521+eni0-0ubuntu2 today, it doesn't connect to any wireless network anymore, neither automatically or manually. It doesn't give any error message either, it just sits there and does nothing. Also had some crashes while trying to get it to connect.

Wirelesscard: rt61 pci

Just to be sure this is due to the networkmanager update, I downgraded to 20080818 svn and that works perfect.

Ok, this is the syslog.

For comparison, this is the syslog with the older version which has no problem connecting.

Same here: With feisty I had my rt61 (working with ndiswrapper; rt61pci really never worked for me) manually configured to automatically be brought up and connect to my wifi network.
Now with intrepid (also using ndiswrapper; I blacklisted rt61pci), on bootup the interface doesn't connect. However I've managed a workaround which consist in doing the following:

rmmod ndiswrapper
modprobe ndiswrapper
/etc/init.d/networking restart

(Obviously, all of them with sudo)

On the /etc/init.d/networking restart it firstly appears as it could not connect (messages with interval log), but then it connects.

Sorry for not explaining more in detail. I'm currently not at this machine, but I will add logs and other info required when I get home.

By the way, I can tell I'm running 2.6.27-3 generic.

Josesuarez, that sounds like it is a different bug. I don't use ndiswrapper, rt61pci workes perfectly for me. The only problem is with networkmanager since the last update.

Alexander: yes, I did all of that, still can't get any connection.
