Bug Description

i have problems in connection my wifi card ipw3045 to my home's wifi network.

Let me describe my home network:

1) Static IP
2) Restricted & Protected with WPA2 key

Now comes my problems.

1) i set all the settings in System > Administration > Network. i used the following settings
IP:192.168.1.4
subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway:192.168.1.1
Network key type: WPA2
network key: duh! should i mention this :p

After giving all the settings,i close the network windows, strangely still it does not connect :S. so i to check if I correctly entered the settings. I open System>adminstation>network again, and found that,

Network key Type: WPA(i remember i had set it to WPA2 )
Network Key: the length is increased(don't know if the key got changed , as i can't see it :D)

now after this irritating correction & I am able to connect. :)

2) Same exercise i explained above it to be done upon every reboot , so its very irritating & wastes my precious time :(

Thanks For taking pain of reading this poorly written bug report( I know i suck as writing bug reports)

Regards
Gaurish

if you are using NM 0.6, system administration -> network will make you NOT use NetworkManager unless you hvae selected "enable roaming mode" there.

At best set all devices to roaming mode and then let NetworkManager do the proper job after reboo.t

Changed in network-manager:
status: New → Invalid

NM 0.6 only works when a dhcp server is available. Doesn't work with static ips.
