[gutsy] network manager prompts for password twice when using auto-login

Bug #140755 reported by Matthew Nuzum on 2007-09-18
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
network-manager (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

In the last two days network manager has started asking for the password twice, with two different dialogs. The first dialog has a check box offering to always unlock this password when the computer is started (which doesn't seem to work, since this appears every time I've rebooted). Then it asks me again with the standard keyring password prompt to unlock the key.

As a note, I have my computer set to log me in automatically. Using Login Window Preferences, in the "Security" tab, I have "Enable Automatic Login" checked.

Got the exact same problem and auto-login setting as original reporter.
