Bug Description

This issue seems to be related to the inability of the latest kernels to support my mobile modem a Sierra Wireless 312u.

The Modem works fine on Kernel 3.2.0-58-generic #88-Ubuntu SM eg on 12.04 kernels prior to the recent 3.11 update

The modem was plugged in at boot time and once the boot sequence reached the desktop the crash message appeared
