2013-10-21 17:46:27 Romano Giannetti description This is more a nuisance than a bug, but I confirmed it on two different machines. We have a (Condo, I cannot modify it) wireless router that fails quite frequently --- the AP disappear. After a few swconds (10 to 30, average) it comes up again. All my devices (phones, tablets etc) will automatically reconnect then; my two linux laptops fails to do that. The AP disappear from the list of available AP when it goes down, as expected, but after then it does not reappear unless I switch wireless "off" then "on" again, at which points NM reconnects correctly. Apport info attached for the laptop running Ubuntu 13.04; the same happens in the other one with Ubuntu Gnome 13.10. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: network-manager 0.9.8.0-0ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-31.46-generic 3.8.13.8 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-31-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8.3 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Oct 21 11:17:42 2013 IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-04-30 (174 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release i386 (20130424) IpRoute: default via 138.67.1.1 dev eth0 proto static 138.67.0.0/18 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 138.67.20.147 metric 1 138.67.192.0/20 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 138.67.196.97 metric 9 169.254.0.0/16 dev eth0 scope link metric 1000 MarkForUpload: True NetworkManager.state: [main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=true WWANEnabled=true WimaxEnabled=true SourcePackage: network-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) nmcli-dev: DEVICE TYPE STATE DBUS-PATH eth0 802-3-ethernet connected /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/1 wlan0 802-11-wireless connected /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/0 nmcli-nm: RUNNING VERSION STATE NET-ENABLED WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN running 0.9.8.0 connected enabled enabled enabled enabled enabled This is more a nuisance than a bug, but I confirmed it on two different machines.
