Network Manager has increased the amount of wakeup events it generates since around 21st Aug 2013, see:

It's gone from an average of 0.2 to 7.5 wakeups/sec inside the vm test machine. The behaviour looks consistent since 21st August, so it looks like a very minor power regression.
