Bug Description
In 12.10 and 13.04 in which remote login is available, the shutdown process slows down when connected to a network, whether through LAN or Wi-Fi.
For example, my slow netbook shuts down with 13.04 in 2-3 seconds when not connected to a network, but when connected it takes 12-13 seconds.
Pressing Esc on quite splash I could see "modem-manager" takes more than 1 second to end the processes, so I fully removed the package and the config file (/etc/init/
The network-manager version is 0.9.7.995+
