Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The output of 'lspci -vv', 'dmesg' and the full content of '/etc/network/interfaces' and '/var/log/daemon.log' will help us troubleshoot this issue. Thanks in advance. |

description |
I have the latest Ubuntu 7.04 with all the updates running on Asus G1 laptop.
Here is my problem:
Initialy wired network works fine when I turn on the laptop and the cable is plugged in. Wireless also works fine. However when I switch from wired to wireless network via tray icon of network manager, I cannot go back to wired network anymore, it is just grayed out.
If I just disable wireless network, it still does not connect back to wired. If I choose to disable and re enable the network it still can only work with wireless, wired does not work.
The laptop has IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
Other comment:
"I have the same problem, anyone can help us ?
My wirelles conncetions works fine only to connect with wired cable i have to connect the cable before the boot.
I tried to disable the network manager , to manage the wired connections but i still with the same problem, ifup the interface can't get me a ip."
