Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

i have a broadcom 4306 wireless card and since network-manager (0.6.4-6ubuntu5) it doesn't work correctly anymore.
Now in network-manager 0.6.4-6ubuntu7 it works correctly in roaming-mode, but if I configure a static connection it disconnects and doesn't work.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the full contents of your '/etc/network/interfaces' file and the output when you execute 'ifconfig -a'? Thanks in advance.

Please elaborate what you mean with 'disconnects and does not work'. With the attached /etc/network/interfaces, n-m should manage all network interfaces. What happens and what do you think should happen? Feel free to attach screenshots, if it helps. Thank you!

The problem is that I cannot manually configure my wireless network. In fact, if I turn on "roaming mode", it works perfectly, but if I want to configure manually my network settings (IP address, subnet mask etc...) (see screenshots), it disconnects and wireless icon disappears from systray. This happens since network-manager 0.6.4-6ubuntu5, instead it worked OK until network-manager 0.6.4-6ubuntu4..
Thank you for your reply.

If you use network-admin, then do you mean that NetworkManager crashes? Or that the internet connection does not work? Or both?

After that happens, please give me the output of

  ifconfig
  pidof NetworkManager
  pidof nm-applet

and attach /var/log/daemon.log.

Thank you!

If I use network-admin and I set a manual configuration, the internet connection (wireless) doesn't work anymore, but NetworkManager doesn't crash.
