Bug Description

Clean install, machine has dual NICs. Both NICs are connected to the same Gigabit switch getting configured via DHCP with the same Ubuntu ISC DHCP server but with (obviously) different configurations.

There is no connectivity until I do an 'ifconfig down eth1' at which point the internet springs in to life.

If I then do an 'ifconfig up eth1' it remains working.

A logoff/on will produce the same results again.

I will try Internet connectivity from the console on a restart and see if the issue occurs without Gnome/network-manager (in the near future).

Regards
Simon

Here are some of the events reported in the syslog. First thing I don't like is the almost simultaneous calling of resolvconf and restarting of dnsmasq. I hope that these actions are serialized. Second, I wonder why the carrier is reported as OFF on eth1 four seconds after DHCP is complete.

As a FYI. I did some 'ifconfig eth0 up' and 'ifconfig eth0 down' at different places. It's hard to log a bug without internet connectivity so I frigged about until I got the log and internet connectivity.
