Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn
A functionality I often use with OpenVPN is the pull option which allow you to receive settings from the VPN server (routes in my case).
The configuration box of OpenVPN in NetworkManager allow a lot of things but not to turn on this "pull" parameter (which you simply have to pass to the openvpn command).
I think that functionality is actually used by a lot of big OpenVPN servers which need to send several routes or DHCP-like options to their client. |
Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn
OpenVPN has a pull option which allows you to receive (pull) settings from the VPN server (routes or DNS servers). This functionality works with network-manager-openvpn, but the way to achieve it is very confusing.
In the NM connection manager checking
IPv4 Settings > Routes... > Ignore automatically obtained routes
actually causes to obtain the routes, quite the contrary what one would expect. If it is not checked, the routes and are not pulled.
As a sidenote - DNS servers are also pulled, so maybe the string should be something like " Ignore automatically obtained routes and DNS servers", but I am no usability expert to support it. |
