Bug Description

This bug appeared before in older versions of ubuntu but was fixed. Now it shows up again in Ubuntu 11.10(Oneiric Ocelot).

When trying to select a p12 file by clicking the file chooser button, no p12 file will be displayed in the file chooser even though in the lower right corner it indicates *.p12 file will be showed. Looks like this is a UI bug.

Without fixing this, lots of WiFi spots can't be used securely.

I am seeing this on 16.04 too, though for me it show no files at all and I want to select a .pem file.

The workaround as described here :

<http://ubuntuforums.org/acrhive/index.php/t-1576689.html>

is to use the generic file browser (nautilus) to locate the file and drop/drop it into the VPN configuration file selector.

Oh, I should mention that I am simply try go connect to a wifi network and perform the corresponding configuration, and it's nothing to do with vpn (of any kind). So, I suspect this is a generic file picker issue rather than something to do with openvpn.
