nm-OpenVPN --up and --down support

Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn

It would be nice if the --up and --down options (or an equivalent) were provided to allow a user to execute an arbitrary shell command upon connection and disconnection of a VPN.

One particular use of this would be to execute a "mount -a" when the VPN connects, thus reconnecting any remote shares that were set up in fstab. Also, it would allow users to execute external routing commands to configure more advanced setups.

I made a patch which adds support for up and down to network-manager-openvpn including export, import and gui under advanced :)

We're actually trying to avoid having such entry fields where it's unclear what needs to be typed in. That patch was also make before the switch from glade to GtkBuilder, so would need to be redone and cleaned up.

In general, I'd very much rather such changes go through upstream first. If you could, please open a bug upstream at the GNOME bug tracker (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/) against NetworkManager and propose both the issue you're finding and the solution; then comment here with the link to the bug report so we can link the two reports.
