openvpn option is missing from the network configurations

Bug Description

In my existing installation (ubuntu studio 14.04) it was possible to add a vpn configuration using openvpn. In 16.04 liveCD this option is missing. openvpn is already installed, the network-manager-openvpn is also installed from what I can tell.

adding openvpn-gnome package solves the problem.

I have the same problem. However, the package 'openvpn-gnome' is not found when I tried to install it.

Any other suggestions?

In versions of Ubuntu prior to 16.04, you installed it like this:
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn

In Ubuntu 16.04, you install it like this:
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn-gnome
