Bug Description

Enable Networking and Enable Wireless are not ticked by default like it's not even selected but I'm able to be online and connect to my Wireless Network. If I Click on both to enable, nothing happens. When I un-check both of them, I go offline. The network manager does work but looks like it's a display bug

This is how it looks like after I login to my Desktop. I can be online and select my Wireless Network normally.

I think we are describing the same problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/892454
However, on 11.10 with network-manager 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5.1 I am not seeing the same problem.

Do you have an 11.10 machine you could test this out on and/or could you pin the older version on the 12.04 install and see what happens?

Hello Walter,

The problem I reported has started with Lubuntu 11.10 Beta version and it is NOT fixed yet. Same problem with Lubuntu 12.04 obviously. I still do have that email when I reported it. I didn't reported on Launchpad that day though.

When I login, I'm able to browse and be online but when I check the Network Manager, it looks like this: http://ubuntuforums.org/picture.php?albumid=2432&pictureid=8204

So, it's not a new issue, it's a bit old and unresolved :)

I'm going to say that this is different than the bug that I have because if I try to use the Internet connection, it doesn't work.

Yes, it is different :)

I also want to add that the same exact bug exist on the 64-bit version - Lubuntu 11.10. I'm online and I can browse or do anything that requires an internet connection but I still see the same: http://ubuntuforums.org/picture.php?albumid=2432&pictureid=8204

How do you get the menu in the screenshot? When I rightclick on the NM icon, nothing happens, and at left click those options are not there...
