nm-applet leaks 1.5GB of memory in 3 days

Bug Description
I'm running natty with the "normal" Gnome panel, and I've noticed that nm-applet keeps getting bigger and bigger. It does this while spamming ~/.xsession-errors every few seconds with the following messages:
