Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu Hardy (8.04) beta 1 , on a Compaq Preasario V2610CA laptop.

Each time the laptop resume from suspend, network-manager reconnects successfully to my wireless router. The only problem is that instead of showing the wireless connection icon (blue strength level indicator), the nm-applet shows the wired connection one (the little superposed black screens). If I do a logout/login, then the right icon (blue strength level indicator) is showed.

After the latest update (still in Hardy Beta), things seems to be back to normal, i.e. the right icon is now showned. I'll do some more testing and if the problem still occurs, I'll be back with another report.

Well, after last night update, things are still not working, i.e. the cable connection icon is displayed after resuming from suspend, instead of the wireless connection one.

This issue also appeared on my Fujitsu amilo pi 1536 after latest upgrade. I upgraded from gutsy to alpha to beta. The connection information which is available in the context menu of the applet is also giving information about the wrong connection. The output of dmesg networkManager seems normal to me - but I am not an expert ;-)

And this is the output from nm-tool. Where information is right. So only applet is showing wrong information

After this morning update and various resume from suspend, it seems that the problem has been fixed. I'll wait to see if it's a "permanent fix" before closing this report.

After one week of testing with the RC/final release of Hardy, my experience is that the problem now occurs only (app.) 10% of the time, which is a progress when compares with what was happening with the beta version.
