Bug Description

Every time I resume after suspend, I get a dialog from nm-applet telling that SIM PIN Unlock Required.

I'm running a ThinkPad T420s with a "Lenovo F5562gw" modem, which is an Ericsson device:

# lsusb | grep Ericsson
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0bdb:1911 Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV

The first time I got the dialog, I entered the PIN and selected "Automatically unlock this device".

Now, every time I resume, I can just Cancel the dialog box, and modem will work. This appears to be an annoying UI problem more than anything else.

# lsb_release -v
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04
Codename: trusty

# dpkg -l network-manager-gnome
network-manager-gnome 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu4

This problem has persisted since at least 12.04.

Same here, also on ThinkPad 420s with the same Ericsson modem.

In addition, sometimes after confirming the PIN, it would tell me "serial command timed out" after a few seconds. It usually works at the second or third try. (It did't appear to me that I could just cancel the dialog instead)

I recently updated from 12.04, where the issue was a little different: There, the dialog would not appear after every resume, but apparently randomly after some resumes.

here as well,

I recently reinstalled my system to 14.04.02 LTS,
Lenovo X240 Thinkpad Laptop,
the unlock sim card PIN dialog shows up like described above (randomly?).

network-manager 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu7.1

% lsusb | egrep Eric
Bus 002 Device 014: ID 0bdb:193e Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV

Lenovo N5321 gw modem

Interestingly this just started since I updated to trusty.
