Bug Description

I recently had a problem with kernel 3.2.0-35. For a day tethering with an HTC TYTN smartphone running Windows Mobile, stopped working. After reading the post for Bug #1027292 I restarted Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit with kernel 3.2.0-23 and tethering worked again. It also worked when running kernel 3.2.0-33 and now it works again in 3.2.0-35.

When not working the phone said "connected" but the Ubuntu message in the upper right hand corner of the screen said "disconnected" and no throughput was possible. There was no animation of the networking icon area, but it remained like an empty windshield wiper area, or whatever it is :-)

For now, everything is back to normal. Seems this area of code needs some TLC.
