Running also 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 but do not experience this issue. I am in the same network as the bug reporter, but I guess I have a different network card, mine is:
descripti on: Ethernet interface
product: 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
vendor: Intel Corporation
physical id: 19
logical name: eth0
version: 04
serial: d4:be:d9:53:2d:64
capacity: 1Gbit/s
capabilit ies: pm msi bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt
*-network
bus info: pci@0000:00:19.0
size: 100Mbit/s
width: 32 bits
clock: 33MHz
And as with this it works - maybe the problem is in the driver for the network card (just a wild guess).
Best regards, Martin.
