Bug Description

Ubuntu version: 11.10 and 12.04

Steps to reproduce bug:
1) Open network settings dialog
2) Select an arbitrary network connection (Wired/Wireless/Mobile broadband)
3) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
    -> Editing [connection name] dialog opens
4) Close Editing [connection name] dialog
5) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
    -> Editing [connection name] dialog opens
6) DO NOT close Editing [connection name] dialog
6) Click on Configure (11.10)/Options (12.04)
    -> Network connections dialog opens

Expected behaviour:
It is mandatory to manage multiple network connection of the same type. This is obvious for wireless network, but it is also mandatory for wired networks. Therefor, the list in the Network settings dialog should contain multiple connections of the same type (adding a new connection by clicking "+") and the Configure/Options button should open the settings dialog for the selected connection OR the Network settings dialog should be as it is and the Configure/Options button should open the general Network connections dialog for all connections.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1000123/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
