netspeed always show cero traffic when i use wired connection, and can't compile de sorce code

netspeed always show me cero traffic when i use wired interface.
And when i compile the source, I get this message:

checking for NETSPEED... configure: error: Package requirements (libpanelapplet-2.0 libgtop-2.0 >= 2.14.2) were not met:

No package 'libpanelapplet-2.0' found

And the config process fail.

I have instaled libpanel-applet-4-0 and libpanel-applet-4-dev
I'm ussing Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits and gnome-panel instead Unity
