Bug Description

dpkg: error processing qmail (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of qmail-run:
 qmail-run depends on qmail (>= 1.06-2.1); however:
  Package qmail is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing qmail-run (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
No apport report written because the error message indicates its a followup error from a previous failure.
                          Errors were encountered while processing:
 qmail
 qmail-run
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

this is the error i ma getting when insatlling any software.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

I am also facing similar issue.There are around 3 to 4 qmail accounts created on my ubuntu 12.04.
I want to get rid of all those qmail accounts it's messy and i am not able to install any packages.
Tried below commands with no success.Please help
sudo apt-get remove qmail
sudo apt-get --purge remove qmail; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get install qmail
