Bug Description

Binary package hint: netgen

Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick
package netgen: 4.9.12.dfsg-3ubuntu1

"netgen -help" gives valid command line options:
Usage: ng { options }
-geofile=filename Input geometry file (alternative: ng filename)
-meshfile=filename Output mesh file
-verycoarse, -coarse, -moderate, -fine, -veryfine
                       Automatic mesh-size selection
-meshsizefile=filename Load mesh-size file with local mesh sizes
-meshfiletype={"Neutral Format", ...}
                       Filetype of output file, default is netgen file
-batchmode Run Netgen in batchmode
-inputmeshfile=filename
                       Input mesh file (batchmode only)
-mergefile=filename Merge with mesh file (batchmode only)
-refinementfile=filename
                       Use refinementinfo from file (batchmode only)
-serversocket=#num Start a Netgen server with port #num
-V Print additional information
-testout=filename file for test output

but
"man netgen" gives wrong options:
OPTIONS
       -geofile=filename
                 Input geometry file (alternative: netgen filename)

       -meshfile=filename
                 Output mesh file

       -verycoarse -coarse -moderate -fine -veryfine
                 Automatic mesh-size selection

       --meshfiletype=type
                 Filetype of output file, default is netgen file

       --batchmode
                 Run in batchmode

       -V Print additional information

A list of valid meshfiletypes would also be really helpful. There are no clues in this manpage of what format they should be in. I found this advice in the Netgen forum on sourceforge:

"For the meshfiletype you have to specify the same string as shown in the Export Filetype menu of the GUI."

So, e.g.: --meshfiletype="JCMwave Format" would be the correct syntax.
