Netbeans 7.01 not open after loading modules in ubuntu 12.04

you can run : "/usr/local/netbeans/bin/netbeans --laf javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel" , its a gtk related problem

Netbeans 7.1 and 7.1.1 will not even try to load modules for me, they just won't load at all.

I should also mention that I updated from 11.10 to 12.04, and it worked at the beginning. Then I purged and installed php again, and I also did the linux-headers updates, and after restarting ubuntu, netbeans won't start anymore.

Any kind of workaround ideas? I'd really like my netbeans back :) I was working on lots of projects in there :(

Ok, I've found a solution for my problem. The cause was the 32 bit version, so I installed the 64 bit jdk and changed the default location for the jdk in netbeans to the new jdk. There are also no more warnings about the modules.

More details:
- download the desired jdk from [0].
- extract to the desired location ( for example in my case: /usr/local/jdk1.6.0_26 )
- set netbeans default location of JDK with --jdkhome /usr/local/jdk1.6.0_26 or manually modify the file indicated by "locate netbeans.conf".
