file paste from windows host to nemo (vmware guest) is not working

When pasting a file from a win7 host to nemo in a 20.04 vmware guest with open-vm-tools, nemo reports in its status bar "there is nothing on the clipboard to paste"

This works with nautilus
This works in 18.04 with nemo

This is more a VMWare issue.

I don't think you read the description

The problem is specifically with 20.04 nemo

from a fast search there are some bugs reported like this, for example: https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/435
I don't use vmware for do a test/check about it (with vm I use kvm instead)
