ndiswrapper-dkms 1.57-1ubuntu1: ndiswrapper kernel module failed to build

Following the instructions found on
http://askubuntu.com/questions/100090/how-do-i-install-the-driver-for-my-linksys-ae1200-wireless-n-usb-adapter

I tried to install ndiswrapper-dkms package and it failed with the message:
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 3.8.0-32-generic (x86_64)

The make.log says:
DKMS make.log for ndiswrapper-1.57 for kernel 3.8.0-32-generic (x86_64)

Cannot find kernel build files in /usr/src/linux-headers-3.8.0-32-generic
Please give the path to kernel build directory with
