Bug Description

On my Ubuntu 10.04.1 laptop,

  infocmp -f -L -d xterm xterm-256color

shows (among other differences) that "key_backspace" is '\177' on xterm but '^H' on xterm-256color. This causes some programs to misbehave when TERM=xterm-256color. (The same command on Fedora 13 shows no such difference btw.)
