Bug Description

ncpmount was working fine in 8.10. In Jaunty Beta with version 2.2.6-6 i get these errors when trying to mount my netware volumes:

ndslib.c:1051: Invalid start: 1835008 00010000 00010000 00100006
ncpmount: Ungültige Serverantwort (-330) bei der NDS-Anmeldung
Anmeldung verweigert.

I saw other Threads about ncpmount 2.2.6-4 having these Problems and that it should have been fixed by now.

I had the same problem in Gutsy and now in Jaunty.
My workaround to use ncpmount until this is fixed is to;
first make sure it it reported here in Launchpad,
uninstall the broken ncpfs and
install the working ncpfs from the previous version.
I then lock the working ncpfs version until it is fixed.

I just installed ncpfs after doing a clean install, and I'm getting this exact error message. Can we mark this as confirmed?

I believe this bug is because in GCC 4.3.3 __attribute_packed doesn't work as it did previously. Really it shouldnt need that in the code. Anyone have a good quick solution other than rewriting all the structs?

Can anyone tell us what version of ncpfs works in Ubuntu 9.04? I'd be happy to use an older version if that means I can access my Novel volumes.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 328020 (which was filed earlier). So marking this one as a duplicate.
