Here with Ubuntu-Gnome 14.10, similar problem:
- Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V do not work
- Cut, Copy and Paste menu items are not greyed out, but they do nothing
- Dragging files works ok

This is trying to move or copy files in different directories of the same, local partition.
