expand/collapse triangle doesn't get the click after changing status, until you move the mouse cursor

Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
- open a folder in Nautilus
- be sure it's a (or navigate to a) folder which contains folders which in turn contain something
- select the list view
- click on the triangle next to a folder so as to expand its subtree
- click again on the triangle (be sure you don't move the cursor before you click)

=> expected: the folder's subtree should now collapse
=> observed: it doesn't

You need to move the mouse cursor a little bit before you click again, then it _will_ work.

Can't reproduce this in nautilus 3.3.5-0ubuntu2 in Precise.

Could you please record a vide screencast of the issue?

I can confirm the same bug.

Ubuntu 11.10 (clean install). List view. Click on the + on the right hand side of the folder name to expand it. Then click on the - to collapse it. Doesn't work. Move mouse off of the icon. Move mouse back to the -. Click. It collapses.

Obviously, the user should be able to keep the mouse pointer on the icon and click repeatedly with the folder alternating between expanding/collapsing each time.

Funny, I don't have any + or - signs on the right side of the folder names. I have collapse/expand TRIANGLE icons on the LEFT side.

Except for that the bug I observe is exactly the same as you describe.

Maybe the difference is because of the theme? It would be pretty strange though, because you say you have a clean install, and though I have installed it a couple of years ago when it was 10.04 and then upgraded to 11.10, I've never ever changed the theme in my life.....

Vadim, I don't know how to record a screencast, but since at least Mike has confirmed this, I'll mark it as confirmed.

Forgive me, matteo. I meant on the left side of the folder icon (not the right).

I was playing with it a bit later, and in one situation (that I could not replicate), it worked as it is supposed to. (Perhaps it was working properly only if the folder was empty?)

To record a screencast from gnome-shell, do a ctrl-alt-shift-r (and again to stop recording). It'll place the movie file (.webm) in your home directory.

Or another way you can do it is to use Kazam.
Ubuntu 11.10 or later:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bigwhale/kazam-oneric
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kazam

but this isn't limited to nautilus, it happens in marlin too, does anyone know what part is controlling this so I can file a bug report to the correct place.
