Bug Description

The arrow keys have lost a function which make the focus of files jump to the row or column in Icon view and Compact view. It was a very nice and useful function.

Thank you for your bug report, do you mean that using right at the end of a line doesn't go to the next one?

Changed in nautilus (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I think so. It is about when you move to the end(left/right/top/bottom) of the window with the arrow keys. When moving right at the right side in icon view it used jump to the next row. And in Compact view it worked similarly in columns.

It is the same bug as bug #876214. I have seen it but maybe I should add this to that bug?

But I don't think it's a real bug but something that is changed. But it was better before. It was easier/faster to navigate, now it is similar to Windows filemanager. I think you are going to miss this function very much when you got used to it. It meant that you could keep pressing a arrow key and move through all the files, very intuitive.

What should/can I do to go further with this?
