I have the same behavior with precise (x64). Twin-View works but with separate X-screen setup, nautilus crashes when right-clicking on the white background in the second (hdmi-)screen (:0.1).
Only possible option to use that :0.1 -screen: moving the mouse in that screen (to move focus to it), open a terminal with Ctrl-Alt-t. Now one can open any application but nautilus from within that terminal in the second screen. Nautilus does always open in the first screen (:0.0), even when invoked from that terminal. Other applications I've tested did open in screen :0.1

I have the same problem with 2 screens with Sony Vaio (Ubuntu 11.10 32bit).

timo@vaio:~$ nvidia-settings -q screens

2 X Screens on vaio:0

    [0] vaio:0.0 (GeForce GT 230M)

    [1] vaio:0.1 (GeForce GT 230M)

The second screen has a white background. If I move mouse to the second screen right click the white background I will get a segfault.

timo@vaio:~$ dmesg|tail -3

The problem did not occur in Ubuntu 10.04.

I have the same problem with ubuntu 11.10 x64 ..i'm using nvidia driver 285.05.09
The second monitor remains white while nautilus is opened ..cursor displays a cross not an arrow .. pressing mouse right button closes nautilus and second monitor now has wallpaper but nothing else .. atrl+alt+t doesn't work while cursor is on second monitor.
