Bug Description

Expected behaviour: Every time I click on the launcher icon for Nautilus, a Nautilus file browsing window should open.

Actual behaviour: -
Once I open a Nautilus file browsing window, then close it, then try to open it again, it does not open. The panel's 3D effect disappears, the Nautilus icon in the launcher pulsates as if trying to open it, and a glimpse of the Nautilus window sometimes flashes for a fraction of a second, then nothing happens. When the launcher icon has stopped pulsating and I then click on it again, the Nautilus window opens correctly. This process repeats every time I close the window.

Ubuntu 11.10 amd64
Nautilus 3.2.0
Intel GM45 graphics
Unity 3D with 3D effects working
Launcher icon size 32

This may be related to bug #674876 because the problem disappears after removing Ubuntu One, but I am not sure if these two bugs are actually related.

Thank you for your bug report, do you have any nautilus dialog or copy running when that happens? Could you add your .xsession-errors to the bug?

One Nautilus process is always running in the background but that is definitely not the process I had tried to launch explicitly. There is no other Nautilus window or process visible. I am attaching the .xsession-errors file as requested.
