Places menu items opening document viewer rather than nautilus

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

On one of my two Natty machines, running the 'classic' (metacity) desktop, most of the items on the Places menu on the panel cause Document viewer to be opened (which then complains Unable to open document - Can't open directory).
The only one that actually works is 'Computer'.

Once I open Nautilus I can pick the items off the left side list pane and they work fine.

Dave

Marking as duplicate, as this is the same issue as reported in bug #667071, and many other bugs reporting that some weird application is opening when clicking a place from the places menu. Something changes file associations badly, and until now, I haven't found what was that. If you have any info about what did you do lastly (maybe a package install log) and if you know that before that update this did not happen, please attach it here. It would be nice to know what changes the default application for the "Folder" type. also note, that there is a workaround in bug #667071 at comment 10.
