Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

After some sudden moment nautilus stopped displaying desktop wallpaper and instead it displays solid color. I can change color itself and change it from solid to gradient and vice-versa. Nautilus just ignores wallpaper image.
In attached screenshot you can see how it exactly looks.

After deleting bunch of configs in home folder and reboot problem got fixed. I think now it's impossible to track what exactly caused it.

Been stuck with it for a couple of days too, in the end i found the solution:

gconf-editor and under desktop->gnome->background->draw background enable it

found it here:

Totally don't know how it changed from skip to zip, but I'm considering not properly installed Nvidia drivers.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. We're sorry we don't always have time to fully triage and fix bugs.

Glad you were able to resolve this! With the change to gnome-shell in newer releases I'm guessing this is no longer relevant.
