Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
When I create a file in a nautilus window ~/Desktop/foo using the right-click menu, the file unfocuses after about half a second, disabling the user to enter the filename in time. If you manage to enter a few characters, the file will be renamed to those characters. If you don't, it'll just be "new file".
Steps to reproduce:
- create a directory on the desktop (in gnome)
- open the dir with nautilus
- create a new file using the right-click menu
In other directories than direct subdirectories of my desktop I don't have the problem.
Using Dapper fully updated (2006/10/11) on a 266 MHz cpu and 256 MB of ram. Perhaps faster cpu's don't even give the half second of timeout (not confirmed).
Thanks for your bug. Are you downloading or copying something on your desktop at the same time? The refresh events probably steal the focus which is a known issue
