Binary package hint: nautilus

After a while of use, nautilus starts using 70~85% of my CPU.

Does this happen every time? Do you have a way to reproduce this?
I would be very useful if you could provide a backtrace of what nautilus is doing when it's eating all the cpu time. This could be related to Bug #59967.

Install nautilus-dbg and libgnomevfs2-0-dbg packages. When nautilus starts to peg the cpu, type this on terminal:
$ gdb -p $(pidof nautilus)
(gdb) set pagination 0
(gdb) thread apply all bt

Attach the output as file.

I think its the same thing thats happening with me, but to me this only happens on closing the nautilus window.

Hi,
I think that i have the same problem.
I have the cpu at 70%-100% even with no application in execution. And "ps" or "top" dont denote which application using the cpu, because all application have 0.0% (or 1% max) of utilization of cpu.

my hardware: laptop with intel centrino and ati x700.

Ok. In edgy i dont have this problem any more if i install linux-image-2.6.17-10-386 .
